Digital Wellbeing, Cyber Resilience and Internet Safety

In Mearns Primary School we understand the importance of Digital Wellbeing as pupils use more and more technology both in school and at home. Digital Wellbeing is about how technology and the internet make us feel in terms of emotions, mental health and physical health. We teach pupils about how to use technology in a safe and productive way, whilst minimising distraction, worry or upset whilst using it.

We teach all our children cyber resilience and internet safety through various classroom activities. We feel this is more important now than ever before as more young people connect online. At the beginning of the year our pupils agree to adhere to East Renfrewshire Council's Digital Responsible User Agreement. A copy of which can be found here.

There are a number of fantastic online resources to support talking about cyber resilience and internet safety at home with your children.
