Attendance and late coming can have a detrimental affect not only on a pupil's learning but also on their wellbeing, relationships and self-esteem. In addition, persistent late coming also has a disruptive effect on the learning taking place within the class, meaning that other pupils suffer also.
Parents and carers are legally required to send pupils to school and it is vital that all families take this responsibility seriously.
Understandably, there can be illness and unexpected issues, however consistent patterns of poor attendance indicate that a family may need additional support to help their children attend regularly and on time. We can offer advice and support to any families who may require this. Our target for our school is 95% attendance.
