Hello! My name is Aiden! I am really looking forward to going to Lockerbie with all my friends because i've been on those types of trips before.
I can't wait to go to Lockerbie since there will be so much fun things to do. Along with that, I am looking forward to the rest of the year and what we are going to be doing.
I will try to improve on my concentration during school time. I will also try to work towards goals harder so I make sure I do the best I can.
Last year, in Primary 6, we did a lot of work on the subject of Japan. This year I would like to learn about Interstellar Space since I have found that it is very interesting from a young age.
I found it very fun making the 2030 vision drawings and the class charter characters because they both made me able to use my imagination in school. Also, it is really fun playing football outside during the daily mile and lunchtime.
This week I liked measuring speed, distance and time and I also liked cooking in the kitchen for the gastronomers Mearns Masters. Even though it was hard and confusing to arrange the shopping list, my dad and I managed to fix it and we got all of our ingredients in the correct way.
The metaskill we were working on this week was collaboration. The way my friends and I collaborated the best was also in the kitchen. My friend and I decided that we were going to make Krabby Patties from Spongebob, using garlic, carrots, potatoes and kidney beans to make the veggie burger, and lettuce, cheese and burger buns to make the entire burger. My friends thought that they were very tasty.
This week, my class and I did a Speed, Distance and Time assessment. I think that I did surprisingly well for myself even though some of the questions were quite difficult and challenging. We also did cooking again. My group, named Showtime, were cooking. This time, we were supposed to actually make a restaurant. The other group would come into the Library, which we decorated with napkins, bunting and cutlery.
Another very big thing that happened last week was going to Lockerbie Manor with the rest of Primary 7. That was one of the most fun experiences of my life. We stayed there for 4 days and all of them were really fun. Friday, surprisingly, was actually the most stressful. It was mainly because of the extreme rain. Also, we had to do activities, have lunch, get all our stuff on the bus and then leave. The worst part is that during the rain, I was wearing full mesh trainers, so my feet and socks got soaking wet and freezing cold.
This week, I was off Monday and Tuesday, but I arrived at school on Wednesday. This Thursday, we did science and what we were doing was making Scribble Bots out of rubber bands, pen tubs, pens, a motor, a glue gun and a battery. We also learnt about Alessandro Volta and how he invented the first battery, the Voltaic Pile. We made them by sandwiching a circle-shaped cut out of cardboard between a 2 pence coin and a piece of aluminium foil and stacking 7 of those on top of each other before dipping them into vinegar to make them work. Unfortunately, the volt meters we were using to measure the amount of power our Voltaic Piles gave off didn't work.
On Thursday, we also did outdoor learning, P.E and values time instead of Friday. For outdoor learning we were making times tables with natural resources. You had to pick a person to do it with and a times table to make. My partner and I decided to make 20 x 15, which is 300, so I had to collect loads and loads of sticks.
This week, my class were presenting our solo talk which we had time to work on for four weeks. The solo talks were about what jobs we wanted to do when we become adults. I decided to make my solo talk on becoming an astronaut since i've been wanting to be a astronaut ever since I was young.
