Google Gemini is the Division standard Generative AI tool. The Gemini App can generate text and images, code programs, and analyze large documents in seconds. Gemini integrates with other Google Workspace apps, allowing you to reference Docs, Slides, and emails as you prompt.
Gemini, along with NotebookLM, is available to all staff as part of Google Workspace for Education, and is compliant with Division privacy policies and practices. This means:
As with our other Google Workspace tools, our data is our data. Google doesn’t own it, the Division does.
Staff get the same data protection and security standards that come with all of our Google Workspace for Education services (Drive, Mail, Chat, etc.).
Any interactions with Gemini are stored with your work content and are not shared outside of the Division. This means what you enter is not used to train Google’s AI model.
Gemini is now accessible through the Google Apps menu ('waffle' menu) inside Division Google Workspace applications.

Gemini for Teens is a custom designed version of Gemini for users aged 13-17. Teen users get a unique Gemini app experience, created by Google after consulting with child development and learning science experts. This included conducting industry standard testing processes to find vulnerabilities in generative AI, and testing with youth advisory panels to ensure this technology was being brought to students responsibly. Gemini for Teens will become available for schools to request access to, starting in May.
Administrators who would like to learn more about Gemini For Teens and how it might benefit their students are encouraged to reach out to the Technology Integration and Planning Support Consultant (Click Here to find yours). A number of professional learning sessions are offered on PDR to support division leaders with learning more.
Notebook LM is your personalized AI research assistant, powered by Google's advanced language model. It allows you to 'ground' the AI in your own documents, creating a customized knowledge base. It's designed to streamline your workflow and boost productivity by summarizing information, answering questions, and even generating creative ideas based on your specific documents.
Here are three tasks Notebook LM excels at:
Summarizing documents: Get a quick overview of lengthy reports or articles without having to read them in full.
Answering questions: Ask targeted questions about your documents and receive accurate, relevant responses.
Generating ideas: Brainstorm new concepts or approaches based on the information in your documents.
