Meet the Team

Blythe has been a teacher with Edmonton Public Schools since 2005. She started her career as an elementary teacher, then continued as a technology lead teacher, assistant principal, and assessment consultant. Through each of these roles, Blythe continued learning about technology integration and supporting teachers through coaching and mentoring. As a Google Certified Trainer and educational technology consultant, her focus areas for support include Digital Citizenship, Google Workspace integration for student centered learning and accessibility tools for digital assessment practices. She also supports the Dossier Dashboard design and the implementation.

Jeff has served Edmonton Public Schools since 2017, spending the majority of his career at amiskwaciy Academy teaching math and science across elementary, junior high, and high school levels, while also serving as an EdTech lead. As part of the TIPS team, Jeff is passionate about helping educators use technology as a powerful pedagogical tool to spark student curiosity and deepen learning.

His work focuses on practical, hands-on tech integration—from creative coding in Scratch and immersive learning through Minecraft Education, to innovative projects like integrating 3D scanning and printing into cultural learning or using drones in Science, CTF, and CTS classes. He is also deeply interested in guiding the ethical use of AI in education and helping teachers navigate new digital tools thoughtfully and responsibly.

Jeff holds a B.Ed. in Secondary Education, an M.Sc. in Paleontology, an LQS certification, and is currently completing an M.Ed. in STEM Education. In his free time, he enjoys nature photography, astronomy, and being walked by his cat. Jeff supports the City Centre, Jasper Place, and Lillian Osborne catchments.

Bernice has been with Edmonton Public Schools since 2013, working as a teacher and educational technology consultant. Her teaching experience includes elementary, junior high, and high school, and working with a diverse range of students in the English as an Additional Language (EAL) program, Knowledge and Employability (K&E) program, Advanced Placement (AP) programs, and Metro Continuing Education. Primarily teaching sciences and speech and debate, she was also fortunate enough to teach a variety of other subject areas such as foods, math, social, and more. Bernice was also the Department Head of Technology, coached the Speech and Debate Club, and participated in various school committees, always looking to build community. Her natural curiosity and interest in how technology can shape authentic learning experiences led her to complete a Master of Education in Educational Studies, with a focus on Technology and Leadership.

Outside of the division, Bernice also volunteers with ATA Science Council, ATLE (Alberta Technology Leaders in Education), and the Fringe Festival. She enjoys learning, exploring new places, music, improv, hanging out with friends, and working out. A firm believer that there's always something new and interesting to discover, Bernice loves working with educators on educational technology integration challenges to build student engagement and cultivate digital skills to prepare students for the world of tomorrow.  She works with the McNally, W.P. Wagner, and J. Percy Page catchments and is excited to work with you!

With over a decade of experience in Edmonton Public Schools, David began his career as a high school science, math, and Spanish language teacher. Working with diverse learners, David has extensive experience working with English as an Additional Language (EAL) students, Knowledge & Employability students, and the Advanced Placement programme. Passionate about EdTech, David has always been fascinated with the intersection of cutting edge tech, and effective pedagogy. He has also been heavily involved in student leadership as well as anti-racism, reconciliation, and equity, both inside the classroom and across the Division.

As a TIPS consultant, David is a strong advocate for the effective integration of AI in the classroom, and engaging EdTech tools such as Minecraft Education. He organized Students Build Edmonton, a Division-wide Minecraft Education build challenge in collaboration with the City of Edmonton. Previously as Department Head of EdTech and Communications, he supported staff in the effective intergration of EdTech tools and led the creation of student-run broadcast announcements, The Knight's Watch.

David supports the Harry Ainlay, North Central, and City Campus Catchments.

Outside of work, David can be found playing boardgames, cycling, or spending time with friends and family.

Will is a dedicated educator with over two decades of experience at Edmonton Public Schools. His expertise in differentiation, Universal Design for Learning, and educational technology has transformed learning experiences for countless students. Will has played a key role in significant projects such as the redesign of SchoolZone and the implementation of ChromeOS and Division monitoring software. He's a passionate advocate for utilizing tools like Google Workspace, interactive displays, and AI in education and supports the Dr. Anne Anderson, Ross Shepard and Eastglen Catchments. Will holds a Master of Education in School Technology and enjoys skiing in his free time.

With a 26-year tenure at Edmonton Public Schools—eight as a classroom teacher and 18 in technology leadership—Aaron bridges the gap between pedagogy and digital innovation. Drawing on his classroom experience in fostering self-directed learners, he now guides schools in strategic technology planning and ever-greening aligned with Alberta's Technology Framework.

As a central pillar of the Division’s digital landscape, Aaron directs the School Supports and Training unit, overseeing four collaborative teams:

• TIPS Team: Educational technology consultants driving the integration of AI, digital citizenship, and Google Workspace.

• Library Team: Specialized, resource-focused support for the Division’s SirsiDynix library system.

• Help Desk: Vital Tier 1 hardware/software support and complete technology lifecycle management.

• Technical Trainers: Professionals who partner with HR and the Help Desk to deliver critical staff training programs.

Under Aaron's leadership, these teams work in tandem to ensure all schools and central departments have the technical support, training, and consulting necessary to utilize Division applications effectively and appropriately.
