Aaron Muller, Supervisor: (TIPS & Library Support Team)
Bernice has been with Edmonton Public Schools for over a decade as both a teacher and technology consultant. Her teaching experience has taken her through elementary, junior high, and high school, and she particularly values working with a diverse range of students – from those learning English as an Additional Language (EAL) to students in Knowledge and Employability (K&E) and Advanced Placement (AP) programs. Bernice was also the Department Head of Technology, coached the Speech and Debate Club, and participated in various school committees in an effort to build community. Having taught a variety of subject areas from science/biology/chemistry to social, foods, math, and speech and debate, she loves finding connections between different subject areas using technology. This interest in how technology can shape authentic learning experiences led her to complete a Master of Education in Educational Studies, with a focus on Technology and Leadership.
Outside of the division, Bernice also volunteers with ATA Science Council, ATLE (Alberta Technology Leaders in Education), and the Fringe Festival. Her greatest passions in life are learning, exploring new places, teaching, and trying to figure out what her next "hobby" will be. A firm believer that there's always something new and interesting to discover, Bernice loves working with educators on educational technology integration challenges to build student engagement and cultivate digital literacy/citizenship skills to prepare students for the world of tomorrow. She works with the McNally, Lillian Osborne, City Campus, and W.P. Wagner catchments and is excited to work with you!
