Overview of Status of Analysis, Design, Fabrication, Tests, etc.
Design: RC will use one magnet instead of two. CAD design for drive mechanism updated.
Fabrication: Drive mechanism (Prototype #3) is 3D printed in high resolution (30-40 micron) and to scale. Remote control made of acrylic with hall sensor assembled.
Tests: Torque measurements taken in machine shop for the magnetic torque between the two magnets.
Accomplishments from Previous Week
New drive mechanism (prototype #3) redesigned and 3D-printed with VeroClear using the Connex3 printer. Full draft report taken. Theoretical calculations of torque and force on magnet and lead screw computed. Experimental torque measurements taken.
Goals for Next Week
Macy: Compute FEA on different magnet configurations. Compute theoretical torque and force calculations.
Dingyi: Determine experimental torque values for other magnet configurations.
Ashley: Design ergonomic remote control design. Edit website and edit written report.
