Guidelines for Report
Weekly Progress Reports should be printed out before meetings with the sponsor and instructor.
All team members should be able to explain all items on the progress report.
To start a new progress report, create a new webpage and use the Progress Report Template.
Overview of Status of Analysis, Design, Fabrication, Tests, etc.
Budget at UCSD is $500.00 ($279.15 already spent). Budget at SPAWAR is $5500 ($2916.03 Spent)
Track and drive shafts/wheels arrived. Most Idler wheels have arrived, but still missing 4. (Ryan)
Track has been cut and belt lacings have arrived, but awaiting final assembly to measure and cut track (Ryan)
Frame and chassis designs in fabrication. Main track plates already cut. Chassis bars already cut, but need to be welded. (Mike & Edrees)
Track Tensioner is fabricated and assembled. Awaiting assembly into full design. (Ryan)
Able to control and drive the Segway. Currently the system wireless. (Edrees)

Sponsor Comments from Last Meeting and Actions Taken to Address these Comments
Final design concepts look good and are ready for fabrication.
Missing idler wheels are an issue. We need to contact the provider and demand an explanation.
Controlling the Segway should require only a wireless controller and a laptop attached to the top of the robot.
Instructor Comments from Last Meeting and Actions Taken to Address these Comments
Need to meet time constraints!
Minutes to group meetings need to be provided.
Risks and Areas of Concern
Order of idler wheels we received is missing some parts, and some are the wrong dimension. We are in process of contacting the provider, but yet to have a response. We cannot get wheels of the right size nearby, since they are specialty snowmobile idlers. Worst case scenario is we machine some replacements out of aluminum.
Track tensioner locking mechanism is held up by a relatively small shoulder bolt in shear. It is fine for normal operation, but may not survive an impact.
