Guidelines for Report

• • Weekly Progress Reports should be printed out before meetings with the sponsor and instructor.

  • All team members should be able to explain all items on the progress report.

  • To start a new progress report, create a new webpage and use the Progress Report Template.

Overview of Status of Analysis, Design, Fabrication, Tests, etc.

• • Budget at UCSD is $500.00 ($279.15 already spent). Budget at SPAWAR is $5500 ($929.17 Spent)

  • Track type decided (snowmobile parts). Ordered all drive shafts, drive wheels, and track. Track and 1/2 of drive shafts/wheels arrived. (Ryan)

  • Frame and chassis designs finalized for fabrication (Mike)

  • Tensioner design finalized and approved by sponsor. Springs and hardware  Preliminary spring-force testing upcoming (awaiting parts to arrive). (Ryan)

  • Working on Controls and looking to have all software and packages installed and ready to go for the week. (Edrees)

  • Segway power cable/hub quote given to Spawar (Edrees)

  • Drive train gear ratio, sprocket sizes, and chain size determined.  Awaiting arrival of parts. (Mahin)

  • Idler wheels need to be purchased based on which kind of idler wheel design sponsor suggests this week.

  • NEED A POWER CABLE. (still in need of power cable, Spawar lost rmp 400 charger.)

Accomplishments from Previous Week

• • Worked on controls and have a solution to test, but Segway ran out of batteries. (Edrees)

  • Worked on 2 more chassis design, and finalized them after talking to Aaron (Mike)

  • Purchased drive wheels/drive shafts/tracks (Ryan)

  • Tensioner analysis (Ryan)

  • Chain Tensioner prototype parts purchased (John)

  • Motor shaft adapter redesigned (Mahin)

  • Researched idler wheels, raw frame materials, axle materials (Ryan)

  • Track tensioner redesigned from 4-bar to 1-bar (Ryan)

  • Begin cutting aluminum and setting up the chassis to attach tracks.

  • Fabrication should be started and well underway. (everyone that can help!)
