Stop-Motion Animation

Primordial goop is a collaborative stop-motion film. Each student was given a lump of clay, two beads for eyes and set up their ipads on their ipad stand. The objective was to animate the clay evolving a living thing. We used Stop-motion studio to make the film. Enjoy!

How do you come up with a good story?

3 . . . 2 . . . 1 . . . ACTION! TOONTASTIC is a creative platform for storytelling. It allows students to draw, animate and narrate their own stories.

In class we talked about how to tell a good story. We learned how to work in small groups of two or three to brainstorm and write down our ideas on a storyboard before we recorded our voices. The story template is divided into four sections . The first section is the introduction. The students had to choose two characters from the Toontastic library and decide what their relationship was: were they the best of friends? brother and sister? mother and baby? They had to show the relationship by animating a daily life of the characters. The second section is the setting(s). Students had to select the scenery for their story. For the third section of the story, students had to come up with a conflict /problem . Finally, the last section is the solution/conclusion, how did the characters resolve the problem. Once finished, story pieces were put together in a single video to share with friends and family!
