Building community together, through empathy and empowerment.
Strategy Lead
My name is Taylor Fox, and I am a sophomore studying government and sociology with a concentration in Criminology, Law, and Society on a pre-law track. I am heavily involved with many organizations, committees, and task-forces on campus related to bettering student life on campus. My main involvements include serving as class of 2024 senator and executive liaison in Student Assembly, I served as the diversity and inclusion chair for Residence Hall Association, and I also work as a confidential advocate in The Haven. The reason I support John and Jasmin in their campaign is how genuine and intentional they are with every person they interact with. They always put kindness and joy first in everything they do. They are hardworking and dedicated and actually work to know the William and Mary community. They both use their influence to empower others and support them through advocacy. This is something I personally rarely see. So, as a friend and someone who works with them a lot, I fully support their endeavors and can't wait to see how they make positive, progressive, justice-filled change on campus.
Campaign Manager
My name is Owen Williams, and I am a junior studying government and history. I serve in Student Assembly as Chair of the Senate and as a Senator for the Class of 2023, and am currently running for Class of 2023 President! I have seen first-hand John's passion and dedication for serving the student body through serving alongside him in Student Assembly's Executive Leadership. I can confidently say that John is one of the hardest workers on campus, and his values-based leadership has been vital to many of SA's biggest accomplishments over the last two years. His and Jasmin's passion for service is unparalleled, and we would truly be in good hands under their leadership. I know that they are the right choice for a Student Assembly and a William & Mary that is based on daily action and achieving results.
Deputy Campaign Manager
My name is Sydney Thayer, and I am a sophomore studying environmental science and sociology. On campus I’m involved in Student Assembly as the Undersecretary of Food Waste & Policy, am a lead intern for Dining Sustainability, and am a part of SUSTAIN, the peer educator group affiliated with the Office of Sustainability. Additionally, I am a founding member of the Veggie Society, worked as an Orientation Aide this past fall, and am a tour guide. I support John and Jasmin because they are running to better our community. Having worked with them both, I can confidently say that there is no one more qualified and eager to empower students and make meaningful change on our campus. As friends, and as leaders, I deeply admire their willingness to listen, their empathy, and their constant desire to help those around them. With John and Jasmin as President and Vice President the voices of all students at W&M will be represented and heard.
Outreach Lead
My name is Sophie Pittaluga, and I am a junior studying public health and environmental science. On campus I am involved in sustainability and conservation work through the Office of Sustainability and the Institute for Integrative Conservation, do research with the geoLab, and spend time with friends (and family) in Alpha Phi Omega, the service fraternity, and Pi Beta Phi, a social sorority. William & Mary needs leaders like John and Jasmin. Their compassion, honesty, and perseverance exemplify our student body. I am certain that as President and Vice President, they will do an incredible job listening to the needs of students, and leading positive, long lasting changes to our campus.
Graphics & Design Lead
My name is Abby Varricchio, and I am a junior studying government and history. I am a sister of Alpha Chi Omega and involved in research on-campus as well as the Student Assembly Outreach Department. As a McGlennon Scholar with the Government Department, I am investigating how the William & Mary community perceives ideas of citizenship in the 21st century with a focus on campus speech. I support John & Jasmin because they have a wide-sweeping vision to address a multitude of student needs on-campus. They are proven community focused and driven leaders. With their positive attitude and unstoppable perseverance, I know John and Jasmin are going to energize Student Assembly to expand its reach and capabilities.
Outreach Team & Strategy
My name is Vicky Morales, and I am a senior studying government and public health. During my four years at William & Mary I have dedicated most of my time to Student Assembly and Phi Mu. More recently I have found myself focusing and working on DEI initiatives and actively playing a role in making campus more welcoming to students, faculty, staff, and visitors of all backgrounds. I support John and Jasmin because I have seen how active they are on campus. Both of them have amazing leadership skills, but what stood out to me the most was how as leaders, they collaborate and check in with anyone involved. They are leaders that listen and work with students to compromise. Both John and Jasmin are accessible and welcoming to anyone that reaches out, a quality any strong leader should have. During my four years here, I have seen and been a part of many administrations, and all I have to say is that the future will be bright for all students under John and Jasmin's administration. I know they will continue on projects that have positively impacted our campus and take action to fill in any gaps.
Outreach Team & Strategy
My name is John Willis, and I am a junior studying government and data science. My most significant involvement on campus is with the STEP office, where I am an Orientation Area Director. Aside from this, I conduct research in the SNaPP lab and recently joined the Veggie Society! I support John and Jasmin because their agenda will increase transparency and enable Student Assembly to more accurately represent the interests of the entire student body. As an institution, W&M champions the values of equity and inclusion - so it is vital that our student leaders do the same. With John and Jasmin leading the charge, I know that SA will work to serve us students and leave a lasting impact on campus culture for years to come.
