Why Becca Supports Terra & Oscar: Terra and Oscar are some of the most passionate and committed people I know. Throughout the past year, I’ve seen their work in the Cabinet and their drive to advocate on behalf of students. Not only are they incredibly effective at accomplishing their goals, Terra and Oscar genuinely care to help students and make lasting improvements on campus. I believe in this administration because I know that they will work relentlessly to bring about positive change for all students with the care and compassion that makes Terra and Oscar the right choice.
William and Mary exists for the students and without student advocacy, plans and policies cannot reflect what students actually want to see on campus. I care about student advocacy so that our campus moves in a direction that reflects student interest and because it creates a culture where student opinion matters.

Why William Supports Terra & Oscar: I believe Terra and Oscar can get the job done! I have respectively seen how passionate they are about our William & Mary community, and them as a force together will make even larger impacts on the community than they already have! Their passion and kindness translates into the work they do, and I think it is important that the larger William & Mary community experiences it first-hand!
Student advocacy is instrumental in fundamental and lasting change at William & Mary. Your voice, our voice, is only as powerful as we make it. When we collectively stand together and push for what we believe and want, we can get it done! Student advocacy is only beneficial when it is collaborative and thoughtful, and as someone who advocates for inclusive spaces across campus, most of it is accomplished through the advocacy of students!

I first joined Student Assembly during my freshman year as an Undersecretary of Sustainability. Since then, I’ve enjoyed becoming more involved in the campus community and supporting many incredible initiatives! Last year, I helped create and distribute sustainability outreach materials such as Sustainability Saturday Tips and the recycling stickers you see on every outdoor recycling bin on campus! This year, I have been working on improving environmental awareness and accessibility to sustainability in on-campus living spaces. I am also organizing a T-Shirt recycling drive and have been planning other recycling/donation initiatives to divert W&M from the waste stream. During my time in Student Assembly, I have enjoyed attending the Student Sustainability Council’s forums to discuss sustainability with students who all have varying levels of experience and knowledge of sustainability! I love getting to hear people’s concerns and ideas to improve environmental awareness, as well as inform them of all the already existing sustainability initiatives we have on campus!
Outside of Student Assembly, I am a Dining Sustainability intern. I help move and monitor the compost bins around campus, grow produce in Caf using hydroponics, and do outreach to educate students on food waste and sustainability! Additionally, I am a freshman Resident Assistant and member of Alpha Phi Omega. Though much of my experience is related to the environment and sustainability, I am passionate about broadening my scope to help improve overall student experiences and livelihoods on campus. Throughout my Student Assembly journey, I’ve come to recognize the incredible resources and potential that we have, and I would love to help ensure that these resources are used to their fullest extent to bring positive change!
