Student Curators

Liberty Bassett

Liberty Bassett is a junior at William & Mary double majoring in Accounting and Art History. She is primarily interested in museum management and non-profit accounting and hopes to one day work for a museum within their financial department, combining her love of her two majors. Outside of academics, she is a second-year Resident Assistant, having worked with both freshmen and upperclassmen. She is also on the executive board of both Women in Business through the Mason School of Business and Phi Sigma Pi, a national honor fraternity within campus. She is also an active member of Phi Mu Fraternity and National Residence Hall Honorary, and will be working as a Financial Literacy peer educator with the Boehly Center for Finance this fall. Upon graduation next spring, she plans to pursue either a Masters in Accounting or a Masters of Business Administration to combine her abundance of passions and experience.

Caitlin Blomo

Caitlin Blomo is a senior double majoring in Art History and History. She is the Vice President of Phi Alpha Theta, the history honor society, and is a member of NIAHD (National Institute of American History and Democracy) through which she is currently interning with the Fairfield Foundation as a grant writer. Outside the classroom, she enjoys her time with the W&M Women's Club Lacrosse team, having strong opinions on bad tv shows, printmaking, and educating her roommate on the correct way to scramble eggs.

Emma Capaldi

Emma Capaldi is a sophomore at William & Mary double majoring in Art History and Classical Studies. Outside of academics, Emma has served as an Orientation Aide helping new students make a smooth transition to life at William & Mary. She is also a member of the club swim team and the editor of Acropolis Art and Art History Magazine, the art and art history publication on campus. She is looking forward to continuing her studies in Art History and Classics during the remainder of her time at William & Mary and while studying abroad in Florence, Italy next fall.

Isabella Chalfant

Isabella Chalfant is a senior majoring in Art History and Environmental Science and Policy at the College of William and Mary. She is an intern with William and Mary's Dining Sustainability, a member of the Art History Club, and part of the executive board for the campus' Archery Team. While working on this project, Isabella was also part of a group of students putting together the exhibition And still, movement, displayed at the Muscarelle. Isabella is interested in Abstract Art and Victorian Realist Art from the Pre-Raphaelite Brotherhood. She graduates in the Fall with hopes of going to graduate school for environmental or art law.

Moss Davis

Moss Davis is a senior at William & Mary majoring in English and minoring in studio art and art history. They were able to study abroad in Florence, Italy, last spring (for a little while). Moss is the Trans Chair of Rainbow Coalition, the main LGBTQ+ organization on campus, and part of the copy team for The Flat Hat. Their work in the Kin subtheme reflects their love of the humanities and storytelling. After graduation, Moss will attend the Columbia Publishing Course in New York City to pursue editorial and design work in trade books.

Tori Erisman

Tori Erisman (Class of 2022) is an Art History major with a concentration in Critical Curatorial Studies and a minor in Finance. During her time at William & Mary, she has worked at the Cohen Career Center and been an active member of Alpha Phi Omega, the service fraternity. Her work on the exhibition has largely been in the Natural World subtheme, reflecting her interest in ecocritical art history. She plans to write an honors thesis her senior year on a topic within the ecocritical realm and hopes to continue to do such work in graduate school.

Brianna Gettier

Brianna Gettier is a junior majoring in Art History with a concentration in Critical Curatorial Studies. Brianna is a transfer student completing her first year here at William and Mary, making "The Art of Well-Being" and her participation in the Natural World subtheme one of her first major on-campus projects. She is an active member of the Art History club and has a passion for the goal of making art museums a more inclusive space. This summer, Brianna will be studying in Washington D.C. in the Leadership and Community Engagement program with the aims of gaining skills to better her perception on the roles museums and creative outlets have in a community.

Katie Gibson

Katie Gibson is a senior double majoring in History and American Studies. While the Curatorial Project is Katie's first class in the Art History Department, she was a 2019 Woody Museum Studies intern in the Paintings and Sculpture Curatorial Department of Colonial Williamsburg. Throughout her time at William and Mary, Katie has been involved in the Spotswood Society, served as President of Phi Alpha Theta History Honor Fraternity, and received a certificate in Public History and Material Culture from the National Institute of American History and Democracy (NIAHD) on campus. In the fall, Katie will be attending Virginia Tech to pursue her M.A. in History and M.A. Ed in Curriculum and Instruction.

June Hodge

June Hodge is a senior at the college, studying Art History and Accounting. Her desire to study art history stemmed from the Baroque class at the college of William and Mary. Since then she has studied numerous topics from Gothic Architecture to Latin American Art. After graduation she will be working in the finance field for IBM with the hopes of returning to the arts in her near future.

Kristen Lauritzen

Kristen Lauritzen is a senior majoring in Art History and Government. She is interested in the Surrealist and Expressionist eras and has completed multiple research papers and projects focusing on modern art movements. Kristen has studied abroad twice, in Prague and Scotland, and loved getting to learn about European art during these experiences. Outside of her courses, Kristen is a Research Assistant for the Global Research Institute and also interns remotely with the Partnership for Career Development.

Hannah London

Hannah London is a senior Art History major and 1693 Scholar. She has researched cultural heritage issues through Smithsonian and Getty internships and through study in Italy and at Oxford. She is writing an Honors Thesis titled “Art, Law, and War: Plains Indian Cultural Heritage and the Failure of the Lieber Code’s Vision of Justice in Warfare.” After graduating, Hannah plans to continue interning for the European Research Council’s project on antiquities looting and later apply to law school. Hannah hopes to translate these studies and her knowledge of Spanish, Italian, and French into a career in art law.


Inez Olszewski

Inez Olszewski is a junior Art History major and member of the varsity swim team at the College of William & Mary. She is the business manager for Rocket Magazine, a a bi-annual fashion, art, and culture publication at William & Mary and also serves as the swim team representative for the NCAA Student-Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC), facilitating communication between the athletic administration, SAAC, and her teammates to help enhance the student-athlete experience. Inez is transferring to McGill University next fall, where she will continue her studies in Art History and pursue her interest in cancel culture and its affects on art perception.

Savannah Singleton

Savannah Singleton is a senior double majoring in Art & Art History and Anthropology. During her time at William and Mary her original interest in Archaeology has expanded to a broader study of both old and contemporary material culture, with a particular focus on art and Industrial heritage. In her free time she enjoys painting and rock climbing, and after graduation hopes to pursue a growing interest in Architecture!

Katherine Welch

Katherine is a History and Art History double major, concentrating in Curatorial Studies, and plans to pursue a master’s degree in Museum Studies in the fall of 2022. Her experiences with the various museums around the Houston area growing up sparked her interest in working within the museum industry. She has a particular passion for social justice and aims to use her degrees in museum education to help spread awareness for social issues through the medium of material culture. She has interned with the Museum of Fine Arts, Houston’s education department, which is where she found her love for museum education.


Isabel Williams

Isabel Williams is a senior at the College of William and Mary majoring in Art History and Psychological Sciences. Isabel is passionate about the intersection of her two majors and hopes to further her studies after graduation. During Isabel’s time at William and Mary, she has volunteered in undergraduate admissions, worked at the Sadler Games Desk, designed and conducted her own research project through the Monroe Scholars program, and was able to study abroad in Florence, Italy, in 2019.



Stephan Zhou

Stephan (Yuchen) Zhou is a sophomore at the College of William and Mary, majoring in Art History. With an interest in Chinese art auctions, Stephan endeavors to acquire fundamental knowledge about the field that he hopes to participate in during his undergraduate time. Along with the aim to graduate next year, Stephan is writing an honor thesis paper on the topic of the developmental history and current status of the contemporary Chinese art auction. A topic of which he plans on continuing researching in graduate schools.
