Week 5
May 5 - May 9
May 5 - May 9
On May 5th and 6th, I worked on making a schedule for the volunteers. Due to the unfortunate and sudden passing of one of my classmates, work has been slow on my end. On the other hand, the progress on the donors has been amazing, and we now have 28 donors signed up for the blood drive. I will be sitting down and thinking of more ways to advertise the blood drive. My new goal is 30 but and secretly hoping for 34 donors to sign up.
Today, I met with Bill and came up with the idea of reaching out to the other fire departments from other towns like Millis, Norfolk, Medway, Franklin, and many more. He agreed and said he would get in communication with them. With this new idea, I'm hoping to get more donors within the next couple of days. I also have to plan out what's going to be on the snack table and start emailing the custodian to have the specific doors open.
I prepared a presentation for the volunteers so they know what to expect on the blood drive day. I went through what to expect at each different stations and the different procedures. This was very good for me since I get nervous when presenting in front of a class. Overall, I did well since I have years of experience and knowledge when it comes to running a blood drive. Mrs. Rimbey made a schedule for the volunteers and got the signs and materials for the day of the drive. I have also been in contact with the custodian to notify him of what exits and entrances we need open. As of right now, we have 31 people signed up for the blood drive.
