Ruth is an interesting book after the Judges, a short refreshing and encouraging story! Tim Mackie mentioned that God is hardly mentioned in this book at all - I have never noticed that!! It's a story about tragedy, boldness/loyalty in the main woman character (Ruth), generosity and loyalty in the main man character (Boaz). The book invites us to consider the question how God uses hardships or how God uses mundane details in our lives.
