Overview of the book of Deuteronomy (the second law):
This book is the Epic conclusion to the Torah. This book is a speech- Moses' final speech - the book described Moses' death. Moses gave the Israelites the Shema. Listen and love. Listen includes responding, a tight connection between listen and love. Torah - hope for a new transformed heart that one day they will truly listen and love. Deuteronomy means the second law. Moses told the Israelites of the consequences of obedience - blessing and disobedience - cursing. True problem is the heart problem. Humanity story of Genesis 1 repeated itself in the Israelite history. One day the Israelites can truly listen and love! How Moses died was how the Torah ends.
"Moses delivers his final words of warning and wisdom to the Israelites before they enter the promised land." By Bible Project!!
I love this overview of Deuteronomy. Even though this book is not as difficult as Numbers nor Leviticus, it's still not easy for me. I just love the nice framework this video provides for this challenging book. Deuteronomy means second law: some laws are new, but many are repeated.

So remember this and keep it firmly in mind: The LORD is God both in heaven and on earth, and there is no other.
