Work opportunity for graduating seniors who might want to assist individuals with special needs: Families who receive Office for People with Developmental Disabilities (OPWDD) services are desperately looking for support staff for Community Habilitation, Job Coaching and Respite.  The hours are very flexible- perfect for students looking for a second job or a job to fit around their college schedule if they are attending school locally.  Interview required for the individual and the family interview an applicant and determine good fit.  The minimum requirements are the following:

 

18 years of age

Legal US Citizen

Pass a background check

Driver’s License

H2M architects + engineers is excited to announce the commencement of our Group Student Shadow Days.  As you may already know H2M architects + engineers is a multi-disciplined professional consulting and design firm.  From treatment facilities to firehouses, from land surveying to road reconstruction, and from site assessment to remediation, our firm has helped design and build many communities. We are a team of over 500 professionals with the knowledge, ability, and desire to create something truly impressive. The goal of H2M’s Group Student Shadow Day is to bring students to our office for a portion of the day to learn about H2M and what career opportunities exist, the type of work we do and to see what a day in our industry looks like.   We believe group student shadow days will allow a student to:


Explore the world of work through interaction with professionals in a student’s desire career path.

Gain an experienced practitioner’s perspective on applying textbook concepts to real-life situations.

Familiarize themselves with corporate protocol.

Identify long-term professional development needs.

Realize the value of networking.

Learn about ACE Mentor Program

 


General guidelines: Two Shadow Days will be held during this year: Monday, December 11th, 2023 and February TBD.  Each event will be held from 12:00 noon to 4:30 pm and lunch will be provided.  The schedule will include:


Students currently enrolled in grades 9-12 are eligible to participate.

Ice Breaker

Discipline Introductions: H2M Professionals will present information related to their discipline; provide an overview of a project from inception to final design; etc.  The following groups will be highlighted:
