MESSAGE FROM THE PRESIDENT
Dear Colleagues,
Once again, I want to thank each and every member of the faculty and staff for the conclusion of a successful academic year for our students. Your work, in spite of all challenges, made our students’ learning possible. Your support led to their joyful graduation moment on Saturday, May 14.
Among other activities taking place this summer, the search for the next Vice President of Student Affairs has been launched. Thank you once again to Professor Laura McNeil and VP of Enrollment Management and Marketing, Jon Scully, for accepting to co-chair the search committee, to Bevin Peters for supporting the work of the committee, and to all the members of the search committee. The College retained Academic Search to help us with this recruitment effort. Academic Search already met with various campus groups to obtain their input into what we should be seeking in the next VP of Student Affairs. Thank you to everyone who took the time to ask questions or provide insight.
The Office of Student Affairs is a great partner for Academic Affairs in coordinating all the non-academic aspects of our students’ engagement with the College. The role of Student Affairs in the effort to attract, retain, and develop our students is therefore critical, whether students live on campus, commute to Chicopee, or access instruction at one of our off-campus locations or online. We are very grateful for the hard work of our small Student Affairs team and thank everyone who will be involved in the search for the unit’s next leader.
As I mentioned after Commencement, I hope that everyone finds the time to take a break this summer to refresh and rejuvenate. I know how hard everyone in this College works day in and day out and I am grateful for all that you do.
Harry E. Dumay, Ph.D., MBA

Ukraine Donation Drive – Thank you!
Thank you to everyone who prayed, donated, and participated in the Ukraine donations drive! It has been a huge success and a blessing to our neighbors in need. Elms College, along with the Holyoke Senior Center, collected four full containers of donations, with items ranging from clothing, hygiene products, medical supplies, child care items, and non-perishable foods. Donations will continue to be collected directly at Full Gospel Church in Westfield, MA. It has been encouraging seeing the response of our community and willingness to help during these difficult times in our world.
With blessings and gratitude,
