This course fulfills the Practical Arts graduation requirement

This course is designed for the student who is interested in learning more advanced woodworking skills. Frame constructed furniture, the use of plywood, and techniques in jointing, fastening and laying out materials are studied. STEM concepts are further explored as students learn about the use and application of wood finishes appropriate to the product. This course is designed for those who wish to know construction techniques used in high quality furniture. The Construction Career Cluster is investigated, and a study is made of present and future possibilities of career fields such as furniture design, construction management, cabinetmaking or building trades.
