When applying to a university, you want your application to be competitive in order to have the best chance at earning admission. Every institution of higher learning will have minimum requirements that applicants will need to meet in order to have their application considered by the admissions committee. In the gray box below, you will see the "standard" academic admission requirements for most institutions of higher learning; some universities will require more and some universities will require less. This illustrates why it is always important to check on requirements for each university - you can typically find their admission requirements on their Admissions webpage. We would also encourage you to contact the university directly with your questions; admissions advisors are incredibly helpful and can often provide more information to address niche questions than can be found online. If you would like to call your university, but feel unsure of how to phrase your questions, your school counselor would be happy to make the call with you!
Not only do universities look at grades and credits earned, they also strongly consider college essays, letters of recommendation, your involvement at school, your experiences and abilities, your academic performance as it relates to the content provided on BC's School Profile, and any additional information that you are able to disclose on your application. Most institutions refer to this as the "holistic review process". This means that the admissions committee will consider the "whole" applicant, instead of focusing the majority of their determination on any one part of the application.
