¡Saludos! (Greetings!)

¡Hola¡ My name is Señora Rykal (JB), and I am the Spanish Instructor here at Elk Mound High School. I joined the EMHS staff for the 2020-2021 School Year, and so far I am loving my new Mounder family! Prior to coming to Elk Mound, I was the Business Ed and Spanish Ed Instructor for the Almond-Bancroft School District. I am really enjoying only having one subject to teach!

I grew up in Oshkosh, WI and graduated from Oshkosh North High School. In 2000, I completed my Bachelor's degree at UW-Stevens Point. After spending five years working as a Government Parts Contract Administrator for Oshkosh Truck Corporation, my husband Jeff took a Principal position at Almond-Bancroft Schools and I spent the next 10 years at home with our children: Harrison (12th grade), Cecelia (11th grade), Hayden (9th grade) and Cora (7th grade). I was anxious to get back into the working world and completed by Education degrees. I taught for 5 years at Almond-Bancroft. In August of 2020, my husband took a new position and moved us to the western part of the state, where he is now the Superintendent for the School District of Mondovi. I am very fortunate to have found my place in the area, too! The students, parents and our Mounder staff have made me feel at ease and at home here in Elk Mound! 

I am also the ACP coordinator here in the high school, as well as the National Honor Society Advisor, so I really keep myself quite busy here at school!

Outside of school, I enjoy reading, boating, doing some four-wheeling at the family cabin in Birchwood, and playing with our two golden doodles, Rusty and Remington. My favorite time of the year is Fall, and my favorite thing to do in Fall is spend time around the fire up at the cabin with a good book and a s'more!

I look forward to getting to know your children and can't wait to share the love of World languages with them!
