Uniform Policy
Staff members must be clean and presentable at all times.
The following are standard uniform requirements and all staff members must have these items available at all times.
• Shirt displaying O'Brien Electical Rowville's emblem
• Shorts or trousers
• Safety glasses
• Ear muffs
• Suitable safety boots
• For workers involved in work on or near live plumbing equipment, flame retardant clothing will be provided suitable to the PPE requirements for that work.
1 Shirts
A clean, presentable work shirt, displaying O'Brien Plumbing Rowville's emblem is to be worn at all times. All workers must have access to a spare shirt to replace any shirt that may become soiled or damaged throughout the day.Workers should therefore leave a shirt in their vehicle as a spare. Shirts are not to be removed for sun baking or even for cooling off purposes.
2 Shorts or Trousers
A clean, presentable pair of work shorts or trousers is required to be worn at all times. Shorts are not to be worn by workers working on or near live plumbing equipment in accordance with the personal protective equipment policies of the business.
3 Safety Boots
Approved safety boots or footwear must be worn at all times whilst at work. However, certain working conditions and/or client requests will necessitate the removal of boots, at which time the worker should weigh the request with any risk of injury. Where risk is identified the worker must replace boots. Footwear protectors should be worn in these circumstances. All safety boots must be in good order, and replaced promptly when well worn.
4 Boot Protectors
Safety boot protectors should be worn at times to prevent damage (soiling) to client’s floor coverings and furnishings.
