Dear CCA VIA Rep,
Thank you for being the VIA representative! Your EXCO role is invaluable as you facilitate your members in taking the first step towards serving the community as a CCA group. Looking ahead, the teachers from the CCE committee hope you will learn from this experience as you journey through the highs and lows of this commitment.
To help start the VIA project journey for your CCA, you would be given a time and venue to introduce the VIA project to your entire CCA. Make good use of the opportunity to outline the CCA VIA cycle including the various milestones and the expected datelines to your group, as well as why we are doing this project as a team.
In addition, please invite your CCA members to input the type of activities or/and target group they are interested in. You may also want to check if any CCA members have carried out meaningful VIA projects in the past (or are currently active) where your CCA could help to extend the project further! You can also take this time or at a slightly later date to form your VIA committee (you are the chairperson) and assign the roles1 to each member.
You are free to use the deck of PowerPoint slides that has been deposited in the CCA VIA Sharing Folder (https://tinyurl.com/ejcvia) but feel free to make changes to them.
At the end of the session, you should check against the 3 objectives stated in the box above. Before crafting the first proposal, you should contact the top few (e.g. 3) potential partners2 to indicate your interest in working with them, and to find out the feasibility of your proposed activities3 to the target group.
Please update your main CCA teacher who is supervising your CCA VIA project before drafting the first proposal (in the next section 2.2 : Crafting your proposal).
