All Project HELP class sessions must meet at least 2 ½ hours per day, 5 days per week (Note: If school district has regular weekly or monthly planning dismissal times that affect the PFA weekly class time, district must ensure weekly class time overall equals at least 12.5 hours per week.) Schedules will be based on ECERS-3 requirments to ensure best practice is applied.
The following sample daily lesson plan is an example of opportunities and considerations throughout the day. Consider specific activities throughout the schedule where intentional instruction can be embedded to respond to individual needs of children based on assessment data as a way to maximize their learning.
Key Points to Remember:
Classroom schedule must be displayed and interactive (students take down/turn over picture after activity is complete) Use real pictures of students doing each activity on schedule
Each child is greeted upon arrival and dismissal individually using personal and positive behaviors
Add 5 minutes to centers if your classroom does center snack
Wait time/transitions should be minimal. Great time to review or introduce fingerplays, songs, interactive games or motor activities
Please note: Lovington has an indoor and outdoor schedule. Both noted here.
