The accomplishments of the 2013 Royal Softball team set a standard for future softball team at Eastern Hancock, reaching levels of accomplishment not before seen. They were the second softball team to win a sectional championship and won the first softball regional championship in school history. The team, under head coach Jack Heiden, had a 23-6 record, setting a school record for wins in a single season that stood until 2021. They were Mid-Hoosier Conference champions with a 7-1 record. Individually, Savannah Blevins, Darby Shaw, Tori Bednarski, and Peyton Neisler were named All-Hancock County, with Savannah Blevins being named co-player of the year in Hancock County.

The team won games over Hagerstown and Northeastern to win the sectional, then defeated Indianapolis Cardinal Ritter 2-1 in the regional, resulting in a season finish that found them among the final 8 teams remaining in the Indiana state tournament. The team was also champions of the Greenfield-Central Cougar Classic, defeating three class 3A schools, Greensburg, Greenfield-Central, and Mount Vernon on the way to winning that tournament.
