What is system integration?
In very broad terms, system integration is the process of connecting different sub-systems (components) into a single larger system that functions as one.
Existing Systems
Our individual frameworks/systems or programs (REAL, SWPBS, Respectful Relationships, Well-being, Nurture, Be You, Curriculum, Assessment, Induction, Transition, Student Voice, Student Leaders, Administration, Pathways etc) rely on inputs connecting the participants and services for collaborative focus.
They are all important components of why and how we are working at Yarrabah.
When we focus on relationships that foster connection and belonging we all become part of the solution, we all have access to the same information required to collaborate, evaluate and propagate, the ways of working with children that meet the needs of children, families and staff.
When our systems are not properly integrated, we perform like an orchestra out of tune, and poor performance impacts our relationships with others, how we make decisions, and how we overcome obstacles in work and life.
The Integrated Support Service Model connects services, allowing for a flow of information and development based on a common set of agreed objectives.
In an integrated model, all staff have access to the relevant information (chronicles, minutes, documents, reports, plans, data) bar confidential student and parent information.
A steering committee meets each week to monitor outcomes against Key Improvement Strategies across student wellbeing.
The steering committee will strive towards linking and connecting services for the purpose of colloboratively achieving not only whole school targets in the areas of the strategic plan and annual improvement plan but to ensure we have a effective team around the learner.
The Steering Committee will:
drive improvement in wellbeing outcomes through the Framework for School Improvement (FISO) and referencing elements of the Health, Wellbeing and Inclusion Workforces Practice Model
ensure that common goals and targets are achieved in SSP and AIP within the area of Wellbeing
foster and promote a friendly, respectful and inclusive environment for all
lead a positive approach to behaviour and engagement support
establish proactive policies addressing mental health and wellbeing, inclusion and engagement
practice and model the PLC approach within the team and across school service teams
provide increased opportunities for student participation and leadership in promoting mental health and wellbeing
foster strong partnerships with students, parents, carers, community and service providers
provide clarity of role for each member of the service team and the service itself
facilitate the collection of data to inform evidence based practice
