Creating music is for everyone!
Whether you have experience performing on a traditional instrument, have never played an instrument before or have created electronic music using programs such as garage band, ableton or logic pro X, creating music can be a fun and rewarding experience.
This unit has been designed to support the practical application of theory topics covered in "Responding to Music" and skills developed in "Performing Music" through various means of composition!
During this unit, all students will learn about the process of recording, sampling, composing using technology and performing with technology in preparation for the summative assessment, where you can select your preferred performance/composition method!
At the end of this unit, students have the opportunity to:
Create a live performance as a soloist or group member using technology studied during this unit. Students will compose music and cover previously recorded music in preparation for a live performance in class time.
Use Digital Audio Workstations to compose original musical works using aspects of this unit such as sampling, loops, recording sounds and using MIDI instruments.
