Foundation
In Term 4, Foundation students will be introduced to two units: Pets and Colours. They will develop their four language skills while learning and revising vocabulary related to pets and animals. Students will explore the names of common animals and practice using the appropriate measure words to count animals in Chinese. Additionally, they will learn to respond to the question 'What colour is it?' as they discover how to describe the colours.
Year 1/2
In this unit, Year 1–2 students will learne how to say dates in Chinese through fun games and calendar activities. They will revise numbers up to 12 and extended to 31 for days of the month. Students will discover how months are formed by adding 月 (yuè) to numbers and how dates are said with 号 (hào). They will practise asking and answering What’s today’s date? and could state birthdays using 我的生日是… (My birthday is …).
Year 3/4
In term 4, Year 3–4 students will learn how to talk about different vehicles in Chinese through songs, games, and role-plays. They practised naming land, air, and water transport such as 汽车 (car), 火车 (train), 飞机 (airplane), 船 (boat), and 自行车 (bicycle). Students will build sentences using 我坐…去… (I take … to …) and asked classmates 你怎么去学校? (How do you get to school?).
Year 5/6
This term, Year 5–6 students will explore the theme of Travel in Chinese. They will learne vocabulary for transport, destinations, and activities. Students will practice making sentences. They will also discover cultural aspects of travel in China, such as high-speed trains and famous landmarks. To finish, students will create and presente their own travel plan in Chinese, combining language skills with cultural understanding.
