Chromebooks

The senior campus has purchased one pod of 24 chromebooks.

Chromebooks are a kind of laptop that run Google's Chrome operating system.

It's almost the same as a "a computer that only uses Chrome web browser"

They work really well with gsuite and office 365

Ours will be setup to quickly login via the portal logon screen.

Their advantages are:

• very fast startup 30s or less to login screen
• lightweight
• much less maintenance than a windows laptop
• can access gsuite and google drive/docs etc
• can access Microsoft office 365

Their disadvantages are :

• cannot easily access U drive or collaboration drive
• cannot easily print to our printers
• not suitable for high end processing eg complicated movie editing, photoshop etc
• limited local storage
