Respectful Relationships Education (RRE)
The NSW Department of Education’s Respectful Relationships Education program helps students build the skills and understanding they need to form healthy, respectful relationships. It covers important topics like communication, empathy, setting boundaries, and understanding consent, an essential part of child protection education in all NSW schools. The program also encourages students to think critically about stereotypes and promotes a safe, inclusive school environment where everyone feels valued and respected. RRE is embedded within the Australian Curriculum, using a whole-school and evidence based approach to teaching respectful relationships.
