Students studying the course 'Music on the Road' will learn how jobs operate in the technical aspect of entertainment. Students will learn about Sound and Lighting Engineering, Stage Mechanics, Vision Systems and Exhibition curation. Through these learning tasks students will gain skills needed for Entertainment Industry jobs, in a practical hands on learning environment. This course will link into the Stage 6 Entertainment Industry course, with the opportunity for elements of the course directly linking into this VET TAFE course.

The Road Crew course is a very hands on experience for students. They are able to participate in learning of modern technologies that are classified as industry standard. The students are able to participate in a wide variety of events that are put on by the school including 'Big Gig'. The core subject areas that the students will be able to participate in are;
Creating and managing a stage
Mixing and balancing audio
Lighting the way through lighting
Understanding of vision systems
Curation of an exhibition space.
This course links in to the Stage 6 VET Entertainment course. Students will then be able to further expand their knowledge and gain more understanding about the Entertainment Industry.
