The Resilience Project is a research evidence-based program implemented in many primary schools across Australia. It is designed to help learners develop essential life skills that promote positive mental health and wellbeing. The program is built around three key pillars: Gratitude, Empathy and Mindfulness (GEM), with an additional focus on emotional literacy.
Through engaging lessons, activities and resources children learn how to:
Practice Gratitude by appreciating the positives in their lives, no matter how big or small.
Show Empathy by understanding and sharing the feelings of others, helping to build kindness and compassion.
Use Mindfulness to stay present and calm, reducing stress and improving focus.
Develop Emotional Literacy by recognising, understanding and managing their emotions effectively.
The Resilience Project aims to equip learners with tools they can use daily to navigate challenges, build resilience and maintain good mental health. By embedding these strategies into the school day, we help children develop habits that will support them not only in their schooling years but throughout life.
