S1 Heat and RENEWABLE energy

All of the classroom resources can be found in the PL Pupils > Science > Science S1-3 (BGE) > S1 Heat and renewable energy folder on the shared Google Drives. Each learning cycle resource includes home learning options as appropriate.

If you want your own copy of the resources, open the file and then from the 'File' menu (or document options button on mobile devices), click on the 'Make a copy' option. This will save the resource to your own Google Drive. Remember to organise your files (you might want to make a Science folder for all of your Science work).

This topic covers different types of energy and how energy is converted from one form into another. It looks at the difference between renewable and non-renewable energies and how heat energy moves from hot to cold objects using convection, conduction and radiation. You will then consider energy sustainability and how to best use insulation to combat wasting heat energy.

Assessments

For this topic, your class teacher will set you various assessments in Google Classroom. The links to these assessments are also in the Google Slides at the appropriate points. Alternatively, you can use the links below. The end of topic test will only be available in class or set via Google Classroom.

Please note that you can only complete these assessments once, so don't submit them until you've covered the material.
