We work closely with our own nursery staff to ensure there is a smooth transition to our P1.
We also work closely with other feeder nurseries; with teacher visits being organised, stay and play sessions and opportunities to meet their P7 buddy before they begin.

We acknowledge that change is difficult at any stage and so we plan and implement effective transition sessions before the beginning of the school holidays.
Children meet and spend time with their new teacher.
They share their likes and dislikes and areas of the curriculum that they are confident in.
They make name cards to be used on their first day in their new class.

As there is not a feeder Catholic secondary school in East Lothian we have a historic effective working relationship with St David's in Dalkeith.
