P7 Class Newsletter

Welcome to your last term of primary school! I can’t believe how quickly this year has gone!

We are busy preparing for camp, organising our yearbook and end of year assembly. Please check your emails regularly for updates. If you have not already sent a baby photo to school could we please have one ASAP. I am also looking for p1 – P6 whole class photos if you have any.

Information about transition visits to high school will be coming home soon.

Rehearsals are continuing for our school show so please make sure you are practising your lines and the songs.
Our Learning
This term in our numeracy we are working on percentages with a particular focus on calculating interest payments and discounts.In other maths we will be focussing on measuring area, perimeter and volume and for data handling we will be creating and interpreting pie charts.

We are continuing to work on paragraphs in our writing but this term we will be applying it to non-fiction writing.

We are continuing to learn about natural disasters for the first part of the term and then we will be moving on to learn about the World Cup and the Commonwealth Games that are happening this summer.

In RE we have begun our preparations for the sacrament of Confirmation. Please make sure you are completing the home activity pages in your booklet.

PE will be with Mrs Sellwood every Wednesday and with Mrs Clark on a Tuesday.

Please ensure that your child brings a water bottle to school every day and remember that only water is allowed in class, no juice please. Also, a reminder that all mobile phones should be handed in at the start of each day.
