School Nursing

What the Service Does: 

The School Nursing Service aims to support the health and wellbeing of all children whilst offering more intensive support to those with the highest need. All children are offered core services such as; child health assessment, primary one and primary seven growth and health assessments, transition support, drop in clinics for support and advice in regards to emotional health and wellbeing and sexual health.

 

The School Nursing service has a key focus on prevention, early intervention and providing support for the most vulnerable children and young people in the community. A referral to the school nursing team can be made under the following priority areas; physical health & wellbeing, Emotional health & and wellbeing, transition, family issues, homelessness, young carer, peer relationships, sexual health &wellbeing, care experienced children and young people and substance misuse.
