מבוא לסקירת ספרות סיסטמתית ומטה־אנליזה

Meta-analysis papers involve the systematic review and statistical synthesis of multiple independent studies on a specific research question or topic. They offer a powerful and valuable approach to integrating research findings, providing a comprehensive and rigorous assessment of the available evidence. This leads to more informed and evidence-based decision-making in various fields of study.
Meta-analyses can be conducted on various types of research studies, including experimental studies, observational studies and neuroimaging studies. They are commonly used in social sciences to synthesize and integrate findings from multiple studies, identify patterns or trends, resolve conflicting results, and provide more robust evidence for theory development.

The workshop on meta-analysis will provide a structured and guided learning experience focused on the methodology and techniques involved in conducting a meta-analysis. Participants will gain a deeper understanding of the steps involved in data collection, study selection, data analysis, and interpretation of results. The workshops will include hands-on exercises and practical examples, allowing participants to apply the relevant statistical tools for meta-analysis on their own data directly.

מטרת הסדנה היא הצגת הבסיס של סקירה ספרות שיטתית, ומטה־אנליזה כמותנית. בסדנה נדון במטרות של מטה־אנליזה, בעקרונות מרכזיים בביצוע שלה ונלמד על דרכי ביצוע בתוכנת R.

בסדנה נלמד כיצד לתכנן ולבצע סקירת ספרות שיטתית, כולל תהליך החיפוש והערכת איכות המחקרים. בשלב הבא נלמד את התהליך שבו מתקדמים מסקירה שיטתית לניתוח כמותי של מטה־אנליזה. נתמקד באופן שבו יש לקבץ את המידע מהמחקרים השונים, באופן הצגת נתונים (על פי PRISMA), ניתוח הנתונים, ובהתמודדות עם הטיות שונות (למשל publication bias).  את הניתוח נלמד לבצע באמצעות חבילות meta ו־metafor בתוכנת R.  נדבר גם על האופן שבו מקובל לדווח על הממצאים במטה־אנליזה.

ביום הראשון בסדנה

נעבור על הרקע התאורטי והכללים לביצוע סקירה ספרת שיטתית ולאחר מכן מטה־אנליזה.

בשלב הבא, נלמד על ביצוע ניתוח מטה־אנליזה באמצעות תוכנת R, ונבצע יחד דוגמה אחת.

בשיעור זה ננסה להקנות למשתתפים כלים להתחיל באיסוף מידע למטה־אנליזה, כאלה שיוכלו לשמש אותם גם לתרגול בשיעור הבא.

ביום השני בסדנה

בשבוע הזה נתרגל ניתוח מטה־אנליזה על קובץ נתונים (של המשתתפים, אם יהיה להם, או של המרצה) באמצעות R, נדון בתוצאות ובמשמעותן.

הקורס מיועד לסטודנטים בתואר שני, דוקטורנטים וחוקרים. יש צורך בידע בסיסי בתוכנת R. הוא יקנה כלים בסיסיים שיוכלו לאפשר למשתתפים להמשיך ולהעמיק באופן עצמאי בביצוע מטה־אנליזה.
