School Health

Eden Prairie Health Services is comprised of Licensed School Nurses and Health Services Paraprofessionals. Students in each school building are served by health staff during school hours.

The licensed school nurses and health service assistants work together to meet the health needs of all students. Each student has an updated health file with immunizations, screening results and health concerns. Health Services also provides monitoring and information regarding the control of communicable diseases, first aid, care to students who become ill or have health concerns and administer medications according to physician orders and parent request.

The Licensed School Nurse is a Registered Nurse and provides nursing consultation and assessment to students and families. The nurse provides and plans for the ongoing direct services for chronically ill or medically fragile students requiring medical procedures. In addition, the school nurse serves as a resource, consultant and team member with staff and community.
