Self-identifying as First Nations, Métis, or Inuit enables the A.M.D.S.B. to provide tailored educational opportunities that honour the physical, emotional, mental, and spiritual wellbeing of Indigenous students. In particular; to build a curriculum that honours First Nation, Métis, and Inuit cultures, histories, and perspectives.

Who can self-identify?
Caregivers of students under the age of 18 may self-identify on behalf of their children. Students aged 18 and older may self-identify independently. Any degree of ancestry is acceptable.
Do I need to provide proof of ancestry?
No proof of ancestry is required.
