Dear Year 1 Families,
Welcome to our online learning site! Below you will find our weekly learning grid for the following week- uploaded here and on Class Dojo each Friday afternoon, a timetable of learning and lots of other useful resources. We hope they are a fun way for your child to stay engaged in learning and feeling connected to school.
Feel free to post a photo of your child's learning onto Class Dojo as a portfolio post or as a message to the teacher. Teachers will be checking Class Dojo each day and will acknowledge and comment on learning posts as well as respond to any messages with questions from parents/carers.
Most importantly, make sure to schedule some time to look after your family well-being. The well-being tab at the top of this site has some great ideas for looking after your physical and mental health.
We hope you stay safe and we look forward to seeing students in Google Meets throughout the week and lots of photos of learning!
The Year 1 teachers,
Tess Pennell, Yara Jerious, Cathy Duke, Meredith Regan, Danielle Clarke and Jackie Kaio
HERE IS OUR LEARNING GRID FOR WEEK 3, TERM 4. THIS WILL ALSO BE UPLOADED ON YOUR CHILD'S CLASS DOJO PAGE. SEE BELOW FOR THE WEEKLY TIMETABLE TO GIVE YOU AN IDEA OF WHAT THE LEARNING COULD LOOK LIKE OVER THE WEEK.
Class Dojo
We will be using Class Dojo for our way to share videos, stories, songs, and also as a portal for you to share what your child has been doing at home with you all.
If you are unsure how to use the portfolio section on Class Dojo, please click on the link to the left to see a tutorial on how this feature works.
Google Meets
Each morning, all students will be required to participate in their class’ Google Meet to check in and for attendance purposes. This meet will only be a short, 15 minute time to check in with students and mark the roll.
The middle of the day Google Meets are designed for teachers to be available online to support and clarify the learning tasks for students.
Please remember this is a suggested timetable based off our learning at school - do what works best for you, your child and your family. We have included a colour and black and white version below. Students might like to get themselves set up at a desk or table with a writing pencil/pen, coloured pencils, their exercise book during the learning times.
Each week specialist lessons will be uploaded to Dojo. They will be set as an activity so watch out for these. Your child can share your learning with them through their portfolio!
Specialist subject day is Thursday so time has been allocated for these subjects then in our timetable.
