MESSAGE FROM THE jUnIOr AND SENIOR iec TEAM

Hi IEC families,

Welcome to the IEC online learning site! Below you will find our weekly learning grid for the following week- uploaded here and on Class Dojo each Friday afternoon, a timetable of learning and lots of other useful resources. We hope they are a fun way for your child to stay engaged in learning and feel connected to school.

Junior IEC - Class Dojo will be used for junior IEC. You can use post photos of your child's learning using their portfolio or by sending a Class Dojo message. Teachers will check Class Dojo each day to see posts, give feedback and answer questions that you may have.

Senior IEC - Google Classroom will be used for Senior IEC. Learning plans for the following week will also be posted on this page on a Friday afternoon. Feel free to post a photo of your child's learning onto Class Dojo as a portfolio post or as a message to the teacher. Teachers will check Class Dojo each day to see posts, give feedback and answer questions that you may have.

Stay safe, have some fun and we look forward to seeing students in Google Meets and some wonderful learning photos this week.

Class Dojo

We will be using Class Dojo for our way to share videos, stories, songs, and also as a portal for you to share what your child has been doing at home with you all.

If you are unsure how to use the portfolio section on Class Dojo, please click on the link to the left to see a tutorial on how this feature works.

Google Classroom

We will be using Google Classrooms for our way to connect with students. Each child's learning for the week will be uploaded onto their Google Classroom and can be completed across the day. Google Meets or Hangouts will also be linked through this. Your child can access their Google Classroom through the Digital Backpack. You can find this link on our school website. If they cannot access it please contact the front office on 61420760 or via admin@nthainslieps.act.edu.au for support. If you are unsure how to use or access either of these features, click on the links to the left.

Google Meets

Each morning, all students will be required to participate in their classā€™ Google Meet to check in and for attendance purposes. This meet will only be a short, 15 minute time to check in with students and mark the roll. The middle of the day Google Meets are designed for teachers to be available online to support and clarify the learning tasks for students.

accessing the google classroom

Your child can access their Google Classroom through the Digital Backpack. You can find this link at:

  1. the bottom of the 'Learning Remotely' page of this Google Site

  2. the school's website by clicking the Digital Backpack tab on the top banner.
