High Performance Sport: Tactics and Teamwork

Semester 1 & 2

This semester, students will have the opportunity to learn about fitness and develop skills and knowledge in a range of sports. They will have opportunities to explore deeper understandings about techniques, tactics and teamwork. Students will learn how to effectively use fitness equipment and record their results, as well as setting and monitoring goals using a fitness journal. Understanding and learning through movement is the branch of Health & PE associated with the study of how and why our bodies move and are developed through participation in a variety of sports.

Outdoor Education: Summer & Autumn

Semester 1

Harrison’s Outdoor Education program introduces students to a variety of land and water based adventure pursuits depending on season. With a strong emphasis on teamwork and leadership, students will be actively involved in a range of activities whilst learning how to identify, plan for and manage risks associated with such activities.

Contribution: $30 plus activities and camp costs

Outdoor Education: Winter & Spring

Semester 2

Science: Investigations

Semester 2

Students will undertake real-life-open-ended science and technology investigative projects of their own design. Students will have the opportunity to develop essential practical skills, link school with the world of science and pursue a topic of interest to them.

Creative Writing: Crafting Stories

Semester 1 & 2

Creative Writing unit is for students who love to write. Students will learn practical tools to improve their writing in a supportive and fun environment. From idea generation and planning through to drafting and editing, this unit will help develop student’s ability to craft engaging and meaningful stories. Students will take part in short writing activities as well as writing and work shopping two sustained pieces. By the end of the unit, students will have an improved capacity for self-expression, an appreciation of the creative power of language, and a portfolio of work of which they can be proud.
