Studying a language is an Australian Curriculum requirement for all students in Year 7 and 8. At Harrison School students can to choose to study Japanese, Italian or French.
Over the school year, all students are required to study at least one Art (performing or visual) and one Technology (design or digital) elective out of the four electives they choose to study. This provides students the opportunity to explore and engage in a range of subject areas providing a well-rounded learning program.
The majority of electives offer standard units that are themed or cover basic skills and knowledge in that subject area. For some electives extension units are offered for students who have already completed the standard units but would like to continue to develop a deeper understanding of that subject area. These electives are indicated with (E) after the title of the unit. All subject areas are listed below.
