The counsellors at SPA hold information sessions during flex blocks to educate students on ways to fund their post-secondary education, including how to apply for scholarships, awards, bursaries, and student aid(loans). Scholarships are usually tied to grades while Awards often include other areas like leadership, volunteerism, and community service. Bursaries provide funding to students in financial need. Student aid provides information on student loans from the government.

Government of Alberta Scholarships
Alberta high schools are invited to select one graduating student who demonstrates exceptional citizenship, leadership, community service, and volunteerism for the Premier’s Citizenship Award, as well as the Queen Elizabeth II Platinum Jubilee Award and the Alberta Centennial Award.
Premier’s Citizenship Award is a Letter of Commendation from the Premier of Alberta;
Queen Elizabeth II Platinum Jubilee Award includes a $7,000 scholarship, a letter from the Minister of Arts, Culture, and Status of Women, and a commemorative medallion;
Alberta Centennial Award includes a $2,005 scholarship.
Science Technology Engineering or Math program Scholarship - Must be nominated by the school.
