Inclusive Education

Michelle Shannon

I have been blessed to work in Evergreen Catholic School Division for the last 10 years, serving in several different schools in this time. I began at St. Marguerite when it was a middle school teaching The Learning Assistance Program, and then moved to St. Joes and St. Margs teaching K-4. My passion for supporting students with exceptional learning needs lead me to continue my education, receiving a Diploma in Inclusive Education and eventually a Masters in Educational Psychology through the University of Alberta.

My first experience as an Inclusive Education Coordinator began at Holy Spirit in Devon, until I moved to St. Peter the Apostle in September 2016. I have been fortunate to have experience in K-12 settings, recognizing that students no matter what age require support in various ways. I have a passion for health and wellness and served as the Wellness Coordinator for the school division for 2 years.

At St Peter, my role focuses on supporting students with Individual Program Plans, student accommodations, and alternate programming. I work along side wonderful support staff who assist in carrying out supports for our diverse learning community.
