My teaching journey began in 2004 and has included work in Southern Alberta, Southern British Columbia, and now Spruce Grove. I have worked with kids from kindergarten through to grade 12. While I believe that kids are the same as they have always been, the demands and stressors that are placed on them are not the same as they used to be.  As such, from the beginning of my career until now, I have become aware of an increase in mental health concerns in children and youth of all ages. This awareness inspired me to return to school and obtain my masters degree in mental health counselling in order to transition my career into supporting kids and families from a different role within the school.

I believe that each person already has what they need to be successful. As a Student Services Counsellor, I aim to honour the experiences of each individual as we work through any social, emotional, or academic concerns they are having.  In order to meet kids where they are at, I have a gained a variety of tools to draw from in my diverse experience as an educator and counsellor. This enables me to support students on their journey of exploring their strengths and making a plan to reach their goals.

I feel blessed to be a part of the St. Peter the Apostle Catholic High School Student Services Team and look forward to working with students and families in the school.
