PRACTICE ROUTINE
By this point in the year, you should have settled into a regular practice routine of 4-5 days per week, 15-20 minutes each day. Below is what each day should look like:
Warm-up: 3-4 Minutes (Bow Exercises & EOEC)
Practice (Say, Sing, Play 5x): 13-15 minutes
Perform a piece for someone or play-along with the IPS app: 1-2 minutes
Now we are learning the next note on your D-String, F# (F Sharp). On the violin this is done by placing your 2nd finger (middle finger) on the D-String, normally on the 2nd finger tape. Mr. Williams will show you how to play the F-Sharp, an EOEC exercise, and go over #29, 30 & 31 on pg. 9 of your String Basics Book.
Now we are learning the next note on your D-String, F# (F Sharp). On the viola this is done by placing your 2nd finger (middle finger) on the D-String, normally on the 2nd finger tape. On the bass this is done by placing your 4th finger (pinky) with the help of your 3rd finger on the D-String, normally on the 2nd tape. Mr. Williams will show you how to play the F-Sharp, an EOEC exercise, and go over #29, 30 & 31 on pg. 9 of your String Basics Book.
