While playing on your open strings is a fun way to start playing your instrument, the number of pieces you can play are rather limited (plus you're not able to play much that you actually recognize!) Luckily, we can play more notes than just your 4 open strings! This next unit will be a long study on the notes on your D-String (E, F#, & G / Plus the G-String for Bass). You play all of these notes by using fingers on your fingerboard. As you learn more notes, the note reading gets a little more challenging, but the reward is that the number of pieces you can play goes up exponentially!
