This Tech Tip is for East Hampton Public Schools Staff AND Students,
I made a change to the Ad blocking extension that was installed in Chrome for students. The old extension was called "uBlock Origin" and it was no longer being maintained by it's developers. Instead, they have recommended switching to "uBlock Origin Lite", which is what I did.
A couple things to note about this new extension. First, I pinned it to Chrome so it will always be visible in students' Chrome browser. It's a little red shield and the numbers in blue show how many items it's blocked on the webpage you are currently on.
Second, if a webpage is not loading correctly, it could be that uBlock is blocking something that is necessary for the page to load correctly. If that happens, you can disable the extension for that webpage and it will then reload the page. This quick video shows how to do that.
