PowerSchool - Beginning in 6th Grade, students and parents are given access to the PowerSchool portal. This access gives a direct view into the students' teachers' gradebooks, including assignments that are due and those that have already been graded. Teachers update PowerSchool regularly and students are encouraged to access PowerSchool regularly to ensure they don't have any missing work. Students and Parents both access PowerSchool here: https://ehpowerschool.easthamptonct.org. Parents setup their own account and then add their children using the Access ID and Access Password provided by the Middle School Main Office. There are PowerSchool apps available for both iOS and Android. If you decide to use the app, our district code is KGLK.
ParentSquare - https://www.parentsquare.com ParentSquare is the primary communication tool our teachers, schools, and district use to communicate with families. Teachers post classroom announcements and direct message with parents. The school and district send out weekly bulletins and announcements. Your information in ParentSquare is also used for emergency notifications like school closings and delays, so you should be sure to keep your phone numbers and email address current with the school office.
StudentSquare - StudentSquare is just ParentSquare but for students. Teachers can communicate with students through the app just like they do with parents. Students who participate in clubs or sports are highly encourage to access StudentSquare as this is the only tool coaches and club advisors are allowed to use to message with students. Students may enter their cell phone numbers into their StudentSquare account in order to get text alerts and the cell phone number remains hidden to all except ParentSquare administrators. Through the web, students access StudentSquare through the ParentSquare website https://www.parentsquare.com. For iOS and Android, they can search for StudentSquare in their app store.

Frequently Asked Questions:
Q) I can't remember my username or password.
A) Almost all student usernames are a combination of their last name, first initial, and then @easthamptonps.org. Most passwords are in the format number, color, animal. Like 2purplecats or 12yellowwhales. If these don't help, classroom teachers have a list of their students usernames and passwords.
Q) My Chromebook won't turn on. What should I do?
A) First thing is to make sure it's charged or at least plugged in. If it still won't turn on, try holding the power button in for a full 20 seconds. Then release the button and press it again for just one second and release. If it still doesn't turn on, you should notify your teacher and they will get in touch with the IT Department.
Q) Something is wrong with my Chromebook. What should I do?
A) Visit the EHMS Library's troubleshooting page here. If you still can't get your device working, there is a link to create a trouble ticket.
Q) How is the district keeping my child safe online?
A) The primary tool the district uses is a content filter called iBoss. iBoss blocks many webpages that are inappropriate for students to access. In addition to inappropriate online content, the district also blocks certain types of websites, like games, video and streaming music websites, as they are often too distracting for students and can be very disruptive to teaching and learning. The iBoss system also logs student internet usage so administration can review a student's activity when necessary. These tools are in place on all devices within the school district AND on the Chromebooks that students are provided even when they are used outside of school.
Q) Can teachers see what my child is doing on their Chromebook?
A) Yes, the district uses a screen sharing and remote viewing program called Impero, which allows a student's teachers to monitor students screens in real time.
Q) Can my child use their own device instead of the school's?
A) In school, the answer is no. If at home, students may use their own devices, however the district won't be able to support their use for tools like Google Meets. Many students use their own home computer to access their online resources. The best way to do this is to use the Google Chrome web browser on your computer and setup a profile for the student within Chrome using their @easthamptonps.org Google Account. Provided you approve when prompted to "Link Data", all the students shortcuts and extensions will load on your home computer.
Q) What if my student shares their password?
A) We do not want students sharing their password with anyone except a guardian. If you think your child has shared their password please notify their teacher and they will ask IT to reset it.
