Allowed: Professional fireworks; fires in a fire pit, ring, or grate on private land or fee-charged public recreational sites; fires contained within liquid or gas-fueled stoves, lanterns, or heating devices with a shut-off valve; smoking in vehicles, buildings, developed recreation sites, or cleared areas; shooting on private land or at a public shooting range; internal or external combustion engines with a spark-arresting device; welding or torches if there is a cleared area (10 feet in diameter) and a chemical pressurized fire extinguisher. Prohibited: Personal fireworks, outdoor fires (campfires, charcoal grills, coal and wood-burning stoves), most outdoor smoking in areas with combustible debris, recreational shooting on private or public land, use of explosive targets or incendiary (tracer) rounds, internal or external combustion engines without a spark-arresting device (e.g., chainsaws, ATVs, generators), and welding or operating torches without a chemical pressurized fire extinguisher in uncleared areas. Allowed: Professional fireworks, fires contained within liquid or gas-fueled stoves, lanterns, or heating devices with a shut-off valve, smoking in vehicles, buildings, developed recreation sites, or cleared areas, and shooting for hunting with a valid hunting license on private or public lands. Additional restrictions apply to internal or external combustion engines with a spark-arresting device, including:  A cleared area of 10 feet in diameter A chemical pressurized fire extinguisher A round-pointed shovel at least 35 inches long, readily available A permit from the local fire department Welding or operating acetylene torches is allowed but must comply with the above restrictions.
